Sensational original, pristine vintage linen teatowel, produced prior to the 1967 America's Cup, during which the 12m 'Dame Pattie' was a challenger. Named after Dame Pattie Menzies (wife of then PM), she lost against the American defender Intrepid, which won the series 4–0.
This is a lovely thick vintage linen teatowel, perfect for framing. It's authentic, richly coloured, has great movement in the illustration and is a true relic of an age of elegant yacht racing (when is it not elegant.... perhaps it wouldn't be the first word to describe battling a storm in the sydney - Hobart) . A few age marks on the cream linen edge that frames the image, but overall a beautiful pristine, fresh from the linen cupboard condition.
Size: 50 x 75 cm.
Fabric: original vintage linen teatowel
Care: cold gentle hand wash, dry in shade. Do not tumble dry. Press while damp
Free post within Australia on orders over $150 (cushion inserts excluded)
