Mrs Siddons vintage linen teatowel cushion cover
If Gainsborough on a teatowel is what you've always wanted, you've come to the right place. A sensational vintage teatowel repurposed into a wonderful character cushion cover featuring Gainsborough's 'Mrs Siddons' in her full fur and feathered glory.
Sarah Siddons (5 July 1755 – 8 June 1831), a Welsh actress, was the best-known tragedienne of the 18th century and was dubbed "tragedy personified". I love the kitschness of this linen - the overblown portraiture, the formal pose, that glorious furlined cape, the ice blue striped silk gown against the warm red background - a Gainsborough signature stroke.
An oversized linen, it fits a 55x55 cm cushion insert, and will look fabulous in any interior.
Fabric: original pristine vintage linen teatowel repurposed into a cushion cover with invisible zip closure and denim ticking reverse.
Size: fits a 55x55 cm cushion insert (not included)
Care: cold machine wash, dry in shade. Press while damp. Do not tumbledry
